Electronic Routing and Inventory Tracking (“ERIT”) allows the effortless collection of data from field service drivers and advanced route management.

ERIT is integrated with the Routing/Dispatching and Mapping features of the Premium editions of Summit Rental, Route Management, Service and Rendering Systems. On prior versions of Profit Builder programs, ERIT is an add-on to the Routing/Dispatching and Mapping package.

Using solid-state electronics in a virtually indestructible stainless steel button-shaped ID tag, each unit or field activity is logged by touching a rugged but simple, hand-held data collector to the button. Each scan is automatically date/time stamped, and a complete and accurate log of field activity is obtained. It is downloaded directly to a Summit workstation or even remotely. Data is automatically matched against routing information and inventory control, and any missed services are immediately identified, with the option to reschedule and potentially charge the customer for attempted service.

Driver audit reports detail how service drivers spent their day: setup, travel (with site details), service (with site details), and cleanup. Fuel tax rebates are easily determined. Driver and route efficiencies are improved, and salary reviews are simplified. Proof-of-service reporting details when services were provided for each unit at a given customer site. This eliminates unfounded customer complaints and keeps management pro-active in customer service. 

In the most recent release, ERIT has the built-in capability of allowing each service to automatically create a billable charge to the customer, according to that customer’s specific pricing schedule by unit type. For those that have service performance-based billing, this is the ideal solution. This feature removes the guess-work from per-service invoicing, particularly beneficial with agricultural, forest fire, special event, or certain governmental and military work.
